Nammanmuay was originated in 1960 by Devakam Apothecary Hall Co., Ltd. who owned a Western-style boxing camp named “King Pet”, where the first Thai boxer, “Pon Kingpet” who was the world champion was trained. The main objective was for the boxers under “King Pet” boxing camp to use Nammanmuay before training or the match. Rubbing muscles with Nammanmuay can prepare the body for the fight and help to prevent muscle injury.

Nammanmuay is the only kind of liniment in Thailand that possesses these unique characteristics. Later, Nammanmuay was popularly used among boxers in every camp because of its immediate effect.
